Orange You Glad Its Summer Citrus Wreath

Orange You Glad Its Summer Citrus Wreath

Ah, summer. I love the sun, running around barefoot, working in the garden, sipping iced tea or coffee, and soaking in the long daylight hours. It is so fun to hear the birds chirping in the morning coolness, or to look at the bountiful colors of all the flowers in my container gardens on our porch. I think that is one of the nicest things about summer, the colors!

A while back, my mom had a spare embroidery hoop she didn’t need that I quickly commandeered in hopes of making a wreath. At the time, I didn’t have any inspiration on what type of wreath I would make. But lately, I’ve been liking citrus themed things. Maybe it is the bright colors, or I just like fruit! I even made a shirt with lemon printed material. So, I guess a citrus wreath wasn’t a far stretch. What better way to celebrate summer colors than with a bright and cheerful wreath? With a little bit of time, various colors of felt, and a hot glue gun in hand, you can make your own!

In this video, I chose to sew some of my citrus slices and leaves to create some variation and interest, but this is totally optional. If you aren’t interested in sewing, skip those steps and just use hot glue! Watch the video for the full instructions.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that it inspires you to find your own slice of summer fun! =)
